Drawings from Havana.
The Cuban capital Havana - a magical place with unique architecture. Despite efforts to protect the old buildings, which are often in danger of collapsing, from the tropical climate, economic crises and the inhabitants' own remodelling, houses collapse almost daily in the city. Over a period of several years, Stefan Schwarzer documented numerous buildings in the streets of Havana with intense, colourful crayon drawings in order to save them from their possible disappearance. The building portraits created directly on location tell an impressive story of the living conditions of the inhabitants and the magic of transience.
