Peter Udo Brückner | The validity of the surplus
A surplus arises when the necessity is exceeded. When more is said than was contained in a question, a remainder is left over. If more is produced than can be used, we are talking about surplus. This does not have to be a profit. Peter Udo Brückner's sculptures show intermediate spaces and body forms. It is as if the space in which people speak becomes a sculpture itself. The interpersonal is given a form. At the same time, the objects have an extremely sensual power that makes us think about how we talk to each other and touch each other.
