Workshops

Our workshops are places of learning and production for artistic expression and creative processes, which highlight the potential of traditional as well as new techniques and show the possibilities of cross-disciplinary and digital connections. In addition to a photo lab and a photo studio, the facilities also include workshops for printmaking, as well as a technology pool for digital media applications.

The photo lab in the J42 provides the space and technical facilities for developing analog photography. It is a place for learning and trying out creative techniques related to photographic processing. Here, photographers can realize their own artistic projects, and those interested can take part in workshops. The equipment of the darkroom goes back to the takeover of the photo workshop of the internationally known photographer Michael Schmidt from Berlin. In the professionally equipped photo studio in the A102, lighting technology and infrastructure for photo and film shoots of all kinds are available.

Werkstudio is a meeting point, classroom and idea hub for digital and analog artistic production. The technology pool offers photo and video equipment for streaming and audio formats, as well as technical equipment for augmented reality, virtual reality and digital mapping applications, and digital production technology. Equipment can be used on site or borrowed. In the print workshop, visitors can learn about the individual process involved in various techniques for relief, intaglio and planographic printing, from the Risograph printing process to lithography, and create original prints.
